Ever After has been working with some of our customers to help design their upcoming parties. Events from birthday parties to baby showers. We have designed invitations, envelopes and then party items to match, such as napkin holders, place cards and more.

Below are pictures from our latest 60th birthday party. Ever After designed the napkin holders and place cards along with matching numbers in frames for the guest of honors date of birth and matching favor boxes. We also put together our signature piece, the Ever After Newspaper. It was 4 pages, front and back (8 total pages) filled with articles, crossword puzzels, horoscopes and more.

Tips for your Wedding Invitations

I found another great article on The Knot giving a few tips regarding wedding invitations. They include everything from when to start planning down to thank you cards. I read over the think and think they are all great tips, but narrowed it down a little to the ones I think are most important to remember. 1. When to order: It is best to order at least 3 - 4 months before your wedding. (This also depends on how long it will take for the invitations to be printed) Since wedding invitations set the tone for the wedding, it is a good idea to plan ahead. Start putting together you dream concepts about 8 months before your wedding and start scouting out stationary.

2. Overcompensate: Make sure you order more invitations then needed. A good rule of thumb os to order 25% more then you need or at least order 25 - 30 extra. It is always better to have more then less. The more you buy at once, the less each will cost and if you have to go back and buy more, it can get pricey. Be sure to get extra envelopes for addressing mistakes. Also remember you will be sending one per household, not per guest, however if there is a child over the age of 18, they should get their own invitation.

3. All in One: Make sure your wedding invitation has the answers to all your guests questions. Some of the things to make sure your invitations include are the following: names of wedding hosts/sponsors (usually parents), names of bride and groom, day of the week, date, time, address of the ceremony and/or reception, and RSVP info (unless you're including response cards). Enclosures: You're not expected to include any, though response cards tend to save trouble, map cards are an ultra-considerate touch as well as any information for out of town guests regarding hotels/accomodations including hotel names, addresses, directions and group rates.

4. Go Formal: It is considered customary on formal invitations to spell everything out including dates and times. EX: five thirty in the evening not 5:30pm

5. Costs: (I am combining a few in this one) Cost varies depending on paper, envelopes and printing process. Keep that in mind when looking for invitations. Also keep in mind postage. The bulkier the invitation, the more it will cost to ship each one. It is also customary for the bride and groom to provide postage for each response card. Make sure to take a full invitation to the post office and have it weighed so you know exactly how much postage is needed.

6. Get a Proof: Make you you receive a proof of your invitations before they are sent to print. You will either receive an email proof, a faxed proof or an actual, true to life, invitation. Make sure to check and double check your proof carefully including colors, wording, spelling, times, dates, etc. Always have a few people check the proof as well to make sure everything is correct.

7. Envelopes: Make sure to ask if you can take your envelopes home immediately or at least have them shipped to you ASAP. This gives you extra time to have the addresses calligraphied or printed on the envelopes while they are being printed. This is also a good way to save time in case of calligraphy or printing mistakes. It will give you plenty of time to have mistakes redone.

8. Get Personal: Most people want special stamps for their invitations. Whether they are LOVE stamps or a beach theme, don't bother going to the post office, just visit their website to see their full inventory and order from there. A new popular craze for wedding invitations now is custom stamps. These are an extra cost, but you can customize your stamps with a picture of the happy couple, a wedding logo or monogram, etc.

9. Ready to Send: If you are all ready to send our your invitations and you are having a destination wedding, send the invitations as early as 10 - 12 weeks before the event. For a local wedding be sure to send them out 6 - 8 weeks prior to the big day. Fun Baby Shower Games

I have been scouring the web for a few cute and possibly unique baby shower games. I have collected a few and wanted to share them.

1. Baby Bingo - A classic and can also be used at bridal showers
Hand out blank bingo boards and a pen to each guest. Have them write gifts in each box that they think the mom-to-be will receive. As the gifts are opened, the guests will cross off their bingo sheets and then first few people to get bingo win a prize.

2. Belly String - Everyone passes around a ball of string. Each guests cuts off the length that they think will fit around the mom-to-be's belly. Everyone then wraps their string around mommies belly and whoever gets closest wins a prize.

3. Baby Race Obstacle - Everyone is divided up into 2 teams. They are given a baby doll, diaper, wet wipes, clothes, a stroller etc. Each team has to change and dress the baby, strap it into the stroller and walk the stroller around a designated path. Whoever finishes first wins a prize.

4. Match the Baby Pictures - Ask everyone coming to the shower to bring a baby picture of themselves. Hang them on a poster board in a random order and have all the guests guess who is in which picture. The one who guesses the most correctly wins a prize.

5. Celebrity Baby Game - On a poster board, write down names of celebrities and celebrity babies. In teams, they have to match the celebrity with their baby. The team that gets the most right wins OR just give a prize to the mom-to-be of a picture frame for a picture of their "celebrity baby".

6. My Favorite Characteristics - Give each guest a list of characteristics such as : eyes, nose, hair, ears, skin, height, sense of humor, personality, etc. Each guest has to write down which of these characteristics they think the mom-to-be would prefer the baby gets from mom or dad. Then ask the mom-to-be what she would pick and the one who picked the most correct wins a prize.

Sneak Peak at our Labels

We just wanted to give everyone a sneak peak of some of the labels we have been working on. Here are a few examples. We will have designs ranging from princess theme, dinosaurs, pirates and more. We are also going to offer a basic line of labels with simple silhouette images such as sports images, animal images and more.

We will be offering a variety of label sizes and materials. We have 3 different sizes that will be offered in dishwasher and microwave safe material, iron-on laundry safe material, as well as stick-on laundry safe material. The 3 sizes we will be offering is 1.5" circles, 2.55" x .75" rectangles & our thin labels 1.5" x .55". There will be 30 labels per sheet of 1.5" circle labels, 39 labels per sheet of the 2.55" x .75" labels, and 110 labels per sheet of 1.5" x .55" labels.

Print Your Own!

Today, instead of featuring a product, we are going to feature one of our service, Print Your Own. This is a relatively new feature that Ever After is offering. This feature allows you to order any of our designs and after all personalization is complete, we will send you a high resolution digital file to have printed on your own. You can print them from home or take them to any of your favorite print shops.

The process would be the same as if you ordered one of our designs for print. After the order was placed, we would add all customization to the design and send you a proof. After any additional changes are made and the proof is approved, instead of sending this file to print, we would email you the digital file.

The Holiday Season.....and your mailbox

It's the time of year when we all like to send out warm wishes to the people we know and love for the holidays. Between the holidays and the new year coming so quickly it makes us think about all the special people in our lives. From the people we talk to all the time to the ones we may have lost contact with or just don't get to see enough whether it's because your schedules always conflict or you just don't live near each other.

I don't know about you, but as busy as life seems during the rest of the year, it is always much worse starting right around thanksgiving. All of a sudden, your weekends fill up with family functions, holiday parties and holiday shopping. Days are filled with work, cooking, taking care of your home and children, decorating for the holidays and maybe wrapping a few (or a TON) of gifts. Then you realize that somehow another whole year has gotten away from you.

A few years ago, when I started Ever After, time got away from me and I was designing holiday cards for customers and the people around me, but I never got around to doing any for my family. As the holiday cards started to roll in, I felt worse and worse about not sending anything out. I always love getting holiday cards in the mail. One reasons is because you end up hearing from people that you haven't heard from in a long time. But let's be serious, we all love holidays because once you are an adult, mail becomes all business.
